Writing Your Trigger in One Sentence
If your confirmation needs a paragraph, you will renegotiate it mid-candle. Train a trigger you can say aloud.
Confirmation is where many plans soften. “I’ll see how it looks” is not a trigger. In our workshops we ask each participant to write one sentence that names the behaviour at the zone — not the feeling in the chair.
Good enough shapes
- “Enter long only if a five-minute candle closes back above the zone after wicking into it.”
- “Enter short only if the session fails to reclaim the broken shelf within two candles of the tag.”
Notice both sentences include location (the zone) and behaviour (close / fail to reclaim). Emotion words stay out.
How we rehearse
Partners read each other’s sentences and try to invent a candle that would tempt a cheat. If the cheat still fits the sentence, the sentence is too soft. Tighten until the cheat fails the rule. That edit is often the most valuable hour of the day.
